Doug Steiny 

 

Doug feels fortunate having been born and lived all his life on the Monterey Peninsula. He is a fifth generation Californian; able to take advantage of the outstanding local schools and college. Being a licensed realtor in the area for over 25 years, he’s seen the change and been involved with the growth of the area. Doug passionately believes that the Monterey Peninsula offers the highest quality of living in the world.

With Doug’s extensive experience and single mindedness in providing exemplary customer service and almost 1 billion dollars in sales, it’s no wonder that 90% of his business is from direct referrals. A top producer since 1990, his more notable clients have been the President of Fox & Carskadon, Northern Trust, Merrill Lynch Trust, Merv Griffin, Doris Day, and countless others. He also served as past director of real estate sales for Clint Eastwood’s Tehama, Monterra, and Blackstone Corporation’s The Retreat at Carmel Valley Ranch.  Doug is thrilled to be a member of the Carmel Realty Company, the area’s premier real estate firm.

In addition to being a busy realtor, he acted as one of four approved mediators for the Monterey County Board of Realtors and successfully mediated dozens of disputes for the Conflict Resolution & Mediation Center of Monterey County. Doug has also served as an expert witness for Real Estate Litigation and Arbitration cases and was a panelist-speaker on positioning and negotiating for Coldwell Banker’s Top Producers National Convention, and also a panel speaker on Luxury Home Marketing at the Keller Williams National Convention.  A graduate of the Real Estate Institute with extensive continuing education courses, Doug revels in giving back to the community he loves so dearly.  He is the founder of the Monterey County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue volunteer team, which is now one of the most active and well funded teams in California.

Always a goal oriented, high achiever, he is passionate about personal fitness. Doug has a black belt in karate, active in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and is now learning to truly appreciate golf and gardening. His family is his highest priority and he loves living in Carmel Valley with his wife, Lisa, son, Dylan, and daughter, Josie.  Doug’s favorite quote sums up his view of life, “Love what you do and you will never work a day in your life”.

 Ellen Dawson

Ellen has been a licensed Realtor since 2000 and recently joined the Doug Steiny Team in 2011.  As a native Texan she has always had a love for land and natural beauty and called the Monterey Peninsula home in the 90’s. After moving back to Austin where she was a Realtor for eight years, her deep desire for Carmel brought her back to the Peninsula. “There is no other place like it…with its natural beauty, culture and unique style, it has so much to offer and more. Being a Realtor gives me the opportunity to welcome people to one of the most beautiful areas of the country.”

I am a mother of four, a competitive tennis player, runner, and a Spinning and TRX instructor in Carmel Valley.
